Edwin Hubble's early life consisted of lots of schooling. He was born on November 20, 1889, to his two parents, Virgina Lee and John Powell Hubble. He was raised with his five other siblings. Their names were Helen, Lucy Lee, Henry, and William. His fifth sibling died as a child but was named Virgina. As a high school student, Edwin participated in Track and broke the Illinois high jump record. He graduated from high school in 1906 and received a scholarship to the University of Chicago. He would receive a degree in Mathematics and Astronomy in 1910. Around this time of his graduation, his father, John Hubble, would pass away. He would then serve in World War 1, before studying Law Philosophy at the University of Oxford.
